Thomas Graics‘ Fotoserie Living Water legt den Fokus auf das Element Wassers, als Quelle des Lebens, als Ort für eine besondere Fauna und Flora. Die Bilder wirken unmittelbar. Der Blick taucht wortwörtlich ein in Landschaften, die einem einerseits vertraut und andererseits doch seltsam fantastisch erscheinen.
Seine Aufnahmen von Wasserwelten faszinieren das Auge und animieren unmittelbar zum Nachdenken über das Verhältnis des Menschen zur Natur, über Vielfalt und Vergänglichkeit aber auch über die Schönheit in der Kunst. Die durchweg reduzierte Farbpalette erzeugt die Vorstellung eines Raumkontinuums. Einzelne Elemente treten weniger durch intensive Farbgebung denn durch ihre gestaltgebende Licht‐und‐Schattenwirkung hervor. Die Kompositionen offenbaren das künstlerische Auge, das die Bildschönheit in der vom natürlichen Zufall gestalteten Welt sucht und findet.

The severely reduced colour palette elicits the appearance of a spatial continuum. Individual elements stand out less as a result of their coloration and more due to the form-giving effects of light and shade. Above all, the compositions reveal Graics’s artistic eye, as it seeks and finds visual beauty in the forms created by chance within the natural world
